July 5th  2007 - Baldinger announces passing of CEO Daniel Baldinger

It is with great regret that Louis Baldinger & Sons announces the passing of our Chairman and CEO,
Daniel Baldinger.

Dan Baldinger, the grandson of the company’s founder, became President of the then small family business
in 1955. A graduate of Syracuse University, his expertise, drive and design sensibilities proved crucial to the
company’s continued growth and expansion into new markets, notably the hospitality industry, where Baldinger currently occupies a prominent position.  Under his leadership, the company solidified its position as a world
class manufacturer of high quality standard and custom decorative lighting. Baldinger’s reputation for quality
and the ability to design and fabricate large scale projects resulted in many prestige installations throughout
the world, and the continuing confidence of architects, designers and specifiers.

One legacy of Dan's efforts began in 1982 when architect Michael Graves chose Louis Baldinger & Sons as the manufacturer of the custom designed lighting fixtures for his seminal, Post-Modern Humana Building in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1986, with the project complete, the public and design-community response to the building and its
lighting led Daniel Baldinger to found Baldinger Architectural Lighting, Inc., which provides high quality, American
made lighting fixtures designed by some of the world's most respected architects and designers. The company's
first product release was its pace-setting Michael Graves Collection of wall sconces and ceiling fixtures.

Baldinger Architectural Lighting, Inc. has gone on to launch a selection of lighting fixtures designed by the most prominent architects and designers in the world. Among the collections are fixtures designed by Michael Graves, Andree Putman, Richard Meier, Kevin Walz, Adam D.Tihany, David Rockwell, and  the late Charles Pfister. His
creation, Baldinger Architectural Lighting, Inc., will continue providing a platform on which leading architects and designers can shine in the years ahead.

Beyond the business contributions, however substantial they are, his passing will be noted more for the absence
of Dan Baldinger, the individual. He was sophisticated, intelligent and had a wide range of interests. He was
equally at home discussing the design influences of a particular period or the fortunes of the Yankees or Mets.
He spoke six languages and was witty and charming in each. In 1978, he completed the New York Marathon in
a respectable four hours, 28 minutes. He was very proud of the six-plus years he spent as National Chairman for
the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS  (DIFFA), a leading organization providing services and support to
those living with HIV/AIDS and those at risk. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 48 years, Marjorie and a
great father to his daughter, Toby, and his son, Howard, a twenty one year employee of Baldinger and currently our President. His presence will be missed by all of us at Baldinger and by everyone who had the great good fortune to know him.

Memorial donations in Daniel Baldinger's name would be appreciated and may be made out to either the
Weill Cornell Department of Neurology and sent to Dr. Norman Relkin, Weill Cornell Memory Disorders Program, Department of Neurology, 1300 York Ave., New York, NY 10021 or Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS
(DIFFA) 200 Lexington Ave, Suite 1016 New York , NY 10016

Changes to Baldinger Collections - August 2006

Baldinger Architectural Lighting regrets to inform you that we have discontinued the Liat Poysner Collection. This decision was made based upon the inability of one of our key vendors to continue to provide us with the necessary parts to produce this collection.

In addition, we have discontinued the stainless steel options (polished and satin) for the Sherry Williamson Collection. The Annonce and Attache fixtures are still available in a satin nickel finish and in a variety of brass finishes. Unfortunately we will not be able to provide the stainless steel options on a custom basis.

Effective immediately, we will not be accepting orders for the above-mentioned products. We are currently working on revising the literature and website to reflect these changes. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
