Baldinger Truly is "An American Tradition" The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently unveiled a newly constructed and renovated pavilion at the re-opening of the Charles Engelhard Court in the American Wing of the museum. Among the various pieces of American art featured in the courtyard are a pair of French-style lanterns replicated by Louis Baldinger & Sons. The lamps, designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt in 1902, were originally placed on either side of the entrance to the grand staircase of the museum, where they stood until 1970 before being put into storage. Louis Baldinger & Sons, a company that takes pride on being "An American Tradition Since 1893," was honored when asked to create replicas of the lanterns based on original drawings and vintage photographs. Changes to Baldinger Collections - August 2006 Baldinger Architectural Lighting regrets to inform you that we have discontinued the Liat Poysner Collection. This decision was made based upon the inability of one of our key vendors to continue to provide us with the necessary parts to produce this collection.
In addition, we have discontinued the stainless steel options
(polished and satin) for the Sherry Williamson Collection. The
Annonce and Attache fixtures are still available in a satin nickel finish
and in a variety of brass finishes. Unfortunately
we will not be able to provide the stainless steel options on a custom
basis. Effective immediately, we will not be accepting orders for the above-mentioned products. We are currently working on revising the literature and website to reflect these changes. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. |
